I am running a mopar electronic ignition on my slant with a double ballist resistor.Can i bypass the resistor?I'm running a 12 volt bosch gt40 coil :roll:

If you use a 3 ohm coil, you can delete the ballast resistor.

Ok how do you find out if you've got a 3 ohm coil?It's just a bosch gt40. :D

Or get a Pertronix coil. They list resistance values on their spec sheets. You can down load the pdf from their website. www.pertronix.com
I am running the 60,000 volt HEI style. They make them in (3) different ohm ratings for racing applications. I am using part #60130. Click on the red link below my name to view the coil.

Ok thanks ted,i'm back in town from work will go shopping and see whats in the parts stores.My ignition module is just the silver colour, is it still ok to delete the ballast resistor if i get a 3 ohm coil?
