Well it's taken about 2 months--probably more, but I've finally mounted my replacement manifold. My engine is a '69 slant 225 and uses the Holley single-barrel carb. As I'm bolting it together, I see the bracket assembly that houses the throttle cable has two mounting holes that match perfectly with the manifold holes. I just want to confirm that it bolts right on top of the exhaust manifold, in between the two manifolds. It seems to be the only place that matches up cleanly and makes sense for the cable travel.

If anyone can confirm this for me, or better yet-link me to a diagram, that would be great. I've checked a ton of images and they're either from the other side of the engine, use a different carb setup or do not include the bracket assembly.

Once I get it together, I just have to adjust the carb that I rebuilt and she'll be up and running again. As I said, it's been sitting for a couple months and I'm looking forward to getting it rolling tomorrow. Any reply is appreciated. Thanks for the info. You people are always helpful on here.

it bolts to the bottom treaded bolts (2) that run through the intake and exhaust manifolds, the stove pipe housing also attaches there .

That's what I thought. The bolts go through the intake, the metal air deflector between the manifolds, through the cable assembly bracket then into the exhaust manifold, correct? Thanks again.

no the cable bracket go at to very bottom on the exhaust manifold side of the bolt where the treads of the bolt are. nothing goes between the manifolds.

Thanks for clarifying that. You guys are awesome. I'm leaving to do it now. Hopefully things go smoothly.
