revisiting my attempt to repower my 360 dodge vintage coupe with sl6...found a decent motor but can't afford expensive mistakes.....is there ANYBODY who has a proven oval track oil pan/baffle/pickup solution that i can buy? Also, given the 4 main bearings what rpm is the limit for 25 lap features on 1/2 and 3/8 dirt ovals in a 2500 lb car? local "help" says left turn only poses severe oil drainback and pan problems...I need 250-275 hp on a single 4bbl or 500 holley..no power adders...dreaming??? thanx eric

Yes, left turn is harder, but it should be no harder than on a V8. Put oil pickup(s) on right side of pan and baffles all around by angled downward. There is no off the shelf solution, no. Sounds like a fun project. At least one person has done it before as I have some of his parts. Got them 3rd hand through another guy though, so don't know the original guy.

250-275 HP is quite doable with a Holley 500 or 390-600 4bbl. Focus on headwork and run at least 10.5:1 comp.

When I started dirt tracking I ran a 65 plymouth with a 383. I ran a rubber hose from a nipple in the block with the pick up on the other end and secured it to the right of the pan. Never had a problem with that set up
