I've heard that KYB Gas-A-Just shocks are good, currently I'm running a set of Red Ryder 'discount' specials from autozone and they are ok, but when the budget allows the Gas A-Justs are up on my list....

I have KYBs on both my Darts. AFAIK, they are the best bang for the buck as far as handling and ride go. Summit has 'em for $28 each, or you can get them for about that in sets of 4 from PST and places like that.

I am about to put some KYBs on the front of my valiant.

I installed some Monroe Gasmatic Plus on the rears. It was a big improvement over the, well they might as well been nothing.

FYI: the Mopar Performance catalogue has the wrong part number for the rear early Abody shocks. They do not fit.

I have always used he Napa premium gas charged shocks. They ride very well and stiffen he suspension up nively. Plus they only cost about $20 a piece.

monro sensatracks. Fronts are for a ford crown vic rears are for a w150. Just had to change bottom bushing in both. They work well and I get them cheap. Next ill try kyb's. I have tried about everything in the monro catalog with close dimensions. So far the sensatracks are the best. The gas mags for an e350 van were good for handling but it made the thing ride like a rock wagon. To much gas pressure.

Koni is pretty much the king of high performance shocks. A set of adjustable Konis will set you back a bundle, but they're some of the best performing shocks money can buy.

If you want adjustability, but don't want quite the price of Konis, I have heard of people running Rancho adjustable off road truck shocks on their A-bodies. Quite creative. I'm not sure what those are meant to fit, but they work.

Or if you want the best shocks on a budget, do what I did and go with KYB Gas-A-Justs. I can't complain about the set I have, although I haven't tried autocrossing my Dart either. Yet.

Sounds if konis are the way to go if you got the bucks. Has anyone tried the Edlebrock adjustables or are they a waste of money? Hey Matt what Konis would I ask for or just do a comparision with what I have?..Dave

i wan't aware that koni made adjustable shocks for mopars. i bought the kyb gas-a-justs and those are definitely non-a-just
the kybs have been excellent so far, though.

i noticed a set of adjustables on bigblockdart.com in their online store. a bit pricey at 130 bucks a pop. other neat stuff like solit strut rod bushings and tubular control arms.

as a regular on bigblockdart.com,(sorry guys, i own one of those too) i believe the shocks that bill sells are QA1's--the price sounds right anyways. Bill only sells stuff that works on our cars---period. there are other shocks out there, but the sensatrac seem to work good for all around use. i have the ranchos(adjustable 9000 series) on my big block dart along with a cal-trac rear suspension and they work great!. the are a 5 way adjustable unit and adjust with a twist of a knob. not sure if they make a set that can be used on the front--might be something to look into. QA1 will build you a custom shock out of a shelf unit for about 20-30 bucks more than a regular unit of theirs---i think 160 + 25 is what i was quoted awhile ago. expensive, you bet, getting exactley what you want--priceless. just my 2 cents

I have used KYB's for years and found them to be a great shock for the money and have yet to wear a set out.They made a very noticeable difference in handling on everything I have used them on.
