OK, my quasi brother in law Terry or Big T really did all the work, he fabbed up a mount for a camera in the 62 Valiant drag car.
Ya, its a slant. lol. Big thanks to Terry....ok, let me know what you think.

Hi Andrew, that was one of the better in-car videos I have seen, hardly any camera vibrations to blur the pictures. Big T did a very good job on that camera mount! You have some faint reflections from shooting through the window, a polafilter in front of the lens will remove them. Sound is great!
Very nice run!

Olaf

Very nice. Love the engine sound - healthy and not strained. Might be nice to see the driver and more of the windshield in the vid, but to each their own.

I am sure Terry will post......but I will try and answer any questions.
I THINK this was the first time either of us has added a camera to a car for video. I have a "cross bar" that goes from isde to side in the car.Its a bolt in for the harness. Not a roll bar of any kind.Seymour has one to if anyone has seen his.Anyhow, Terry attached the camera to his tripod, then wrapped the tripod in a towl where he braced it against the crossbar.I had a roll of blue 200 MPH tape(fancy duct tape)and he really secured the whole thing to the crossbar w/ it, and had the rubber tripod pressed to the floorpan.
I think we will try to pan back like you suggested for the next time.I wanted more than just the windshield....and where it was placed we got the tree, and camera shake only where the car shifted really.Solid engine mount, and manual valve body dont help.LOL I think the litte shake adds to it though.

Ok...so I will post something.... The idea off the video was a spur of the moment thing. I asked Andrew ...Hey What do you think of trying to mount my video in your car during a pass? Well there you go!!.. It turned out pretty good...Well we are happy with it!..

I am looking to get a RAM MOUNT..for my car as well as Andrew's...Then we can mount either the Digital Camcorder or Digital Camera in either car...OR as suggested...two different views from within the car....

So that's what it's like in your car!

Usually the only sound I get to hear is the warm up, the burn out, then the sound of impending doom as you come zooming up from behind!

That's too cool! I had to use headphones, my wife told me to turn the stereo down...

I have watched it several times, really cool video.Unfortunately you were pretty late. If it were a winning round i would have added "another one bites the dust " sound track at the end.

Great job on the video...this is a great inspiration to get my own car finished.
There are several videos on that link of other excellent slant races.
It would be great to have an all video section/thread.
Keep them coming...awesome!

Thanks & regards
Derek
