How many of you own the C-body /6 cars. Does a '60 Savoy count? I've got my eye on a C-body and was wondering who else has one.

Slant 6 powered B Body vehicles are pretty rare these days but those were offered. I think the Savoy is a B-Body.
Here is one C Body list I found... yes, a bunch a big vehicles.

VIP (1966-69)

I don't know about any of the other cars, but a 1969 Polara was not available with a slant six. 5th digit of the VIN
F=318
G=383
K=440 std
L=440 HP

I just thought there would be a few of these big body cars wearing a /6 on this sight. Its neat to see such a small motor pushing these types of cars around. I'll update this thread with my new find in a few days.

To eliminate the list...

300 and Imperial are big block only cars...

Never seen a New Yorker with anything less than 400 CID under the hood...Newports I think were base big block cars...

VIP's were also top of the line as well as the Monacos'...

I've not seen a 330/880 with anything less than a 318poly...so far (I'm sure there has to be an odd duck with these cars out there.)

The most likely candidate would be the Plymouth Fury...I know I've seen one 1966 with an Automatic, and I owned one '69 that was a "special order six" on the VIN (owner decided to swap in a 383-2v...before I got it)...

Fury I, II, and III had the slant as standard through '71. '72 went to the 318 as standard.

The Polara had a one year only base model with the slant in it, I believe '71. All other years ('65 on C body) the 318 was the base engine.

Chryslers never used the slant six in C body's. the 383 2bbl was the standard engine through '71, when the 360 was standard in the Newport Customs. Later in the '70's they used 318, probably as a credit option.
The only time the Chryslers used a slant in their big cars were the '79-81 R bodys, in the Newport.

Imperials never used anything less than a 413/440, except the the early '80's models with the fuel injected 318's.

I would think that the most common C body /6 will be a Fury I set up for fleet use (think taxi). Even some police vehicles. Even as late as 66 you could get a 383 Newport with three on the tree standard-but it was special order

I think a Coronet is a "B" body not a "C" (Polara/Monaco).

I was trying to buy a 1968 Fury I 2dr post with a /6,auto,radio. The paint was poor, no headliner, and hadn't run in 4yrs. Everyone knows what they need when they're this old. He wanted 1500.00 for it but funds are tight right now. He sold it this weekend for 1200.00. I guess I should have bought it. Only 5600+ were made in '68 for the 2 dr post.
