Ok, this is probably crazy, but this is what I'm wondering. I would like to keep my 13" wheel covers for my wagon but would like to go to 14" rims & tires for better look and selection. Has anyone ever seen a rim adapater, essentially a 1" trim ring-like that would then allow a smaller diameter wheelcover to be installed??

I know Ford did this with LTDs once with 14" covers on 15" wheels but I'm not finding anything that would work for me. Kind of wondering if the Hot Rod crew might have something given all their custom applications?

Change over to the moon/dog dish style covers they will fit either.

That's what I have on there now but really want to put the full wheel covers on it as that is what my father had on his back in the day. Really a sentimental angle, just would like to upgrade to 14"

Never heard of anything like that. If an internet search does yield any results, I doubt they exist.

Buy a set of 14" trim rings and fit your 13" wheel covers inside them. I have seen Moon discs fitted this way.

I made my own adapter by finding a fairly flat 14" wheel cover and cutting the center out so the 13" wheel cover attached.

Perhaps I should have had the two welded, because it flexed too much. The result was that the combination wheel cover came off the front wheels during hard cornering.

Tired of losing wheel covers, I instead tried longer wheel studs that allowed the use of a spacer to move the 13" wheels out one inch to clear the Kelsey-Hayes 4-piston disc brakes.

After breaking too many studs, I eventually gave up and did something completely stupid and dangerous and that you should never, never do: used wheel adapters.

No more problems over the last 20 years, but every 6 months I remove the wheels and adapters, apply the red locking fluid, reattach and torque to specs. Only do this, though, if you have little regard for your life and the safety of your loved ones and others in the vicinity. Wheel adapters are a no-no, a scourge, a sin, an outrage against humanity, an abomination and, at best, a thoroughly dishonorable thing to do.

Yep, wheel spacers definelty scare me but the wheel adapters (if they exist) seemed less harmful especially as I see little "hard cornering" occuring in my 'lil wagon
