Does anyone know the part number of the Walker rebuild kit for a Holley 1920, LIST # 2533? Oreilly shows 2 options for my 66, 15480A and 15519A. According to Oreilly's website, the store has to refer to the interchange manual for the carb number, but none of the clerks know how.

I'll have a 15480A in my hands in a few minutes. But I just tore the carb down, and it doesn't look exactly like the pics in the 1920 manual, so that may not be what it is.

Well, the 15480A wasn't it. My accelerator pump has a cylindrical shaft, the ones in the kit are flat.

Just another update, I tried to order the other kit, 15519A, but it is no longer available from Oreilly. I have emails in to RockAuto (they show 2 15519A kits in stock), Holley, and Walker. We'll see if I get any responses. If anyone else has any info, it would be appreciated.

Ok, I contacted Walker, who pretty much told me to buy a 1904 kit for the pump, and I may have to also buy the 1920 kit for the gaskets. Holley sent me to another supplier who said my carb must have been modified for a round shaft accel pump, and I can send them the pump and they can match it. An option, yes, but then I won't know if the rest of the gaskets will fit... I do have to still call Carbsonly back and talk with them. I thought I'd post some pics and see if any of you have the same carb and have found a kit. So far everyone is consistently saying that this carb should have a flat shaft accel pump. Go figure.

I'm no Holley 1920 guru by any stretch, but the round accelerator pump plunger is news to me.

Mine was flat.

…except for me, in a detailed PM I sent you identifying your carburetor, pointing you to a good, dependable source for the correct kit and explaining why your carburetor doesn't (and isn't supposed to) have a flat accelerator pump stem.

Reason number two why I no longer post much on here: the "talking to a brick wall" effect. It's especially fun when the brick wall keeps on asking the question 'cause he didn't like the right answer…keeps fishing for the answer he thinks he wants. In your case, you kvetched about the cost of buying a kit vastly more complete and of much better quality than you can buy in anybody's box on the open market. Guess you reckon it's smarter to buy two mass-market kits plus whatever additional parts you need if you can find 'em, sooooo...rotsa ruck to ya.

Ok, now that you've gotten that off of your chest. Here's what you don't know. The first mistake I made was getting Carbsonly.com mixed up with thecarburetorshop.com. The quote I got from carbsonly (which you recommended to someone in an older post) was high, and after contacting them, their kit has the flat shaft pump. 2nd mistake was going to the company that Holley recommended. They also have the same story. What makes me think thecarburetorshop.com would be any different? What is wrong with me wanting to find someone that has actually purchased at kit that fits, and get the part number from them? While I sure don't appreciate your tone or attitude, I'm glad you posted or I would not have checked and seen that I hadn't contacted the carburetor shop.

Gosh, you must be right. I must be full of poo. All that stuff I explained about what your carb is, that specific-sounding ID by year and application? Totally made up. Not based on anything but pure imagination, and certainly not based on having actually rebuilt dozens of those round-stem 1920s. You best ignore me; I clearly don't know WTF I'm talking about. You certainly shouldn't go browsing in the 1920 section of Walker's Holley 1-barrel parts catalogue. And if you're buying a mass-market carburetor kit, it should definitely not be a Standard-Hygrade #315.
I might start caring when people stop behaving as though there's no such thing as Google.

It looks like I have the same carb as you with the round accel. pump shaft. I did the same thing as you: went to NAPA, bought what they suggested, only to find out that their kit had the flat shaft. I went back to NAPA with my old round shaft pump, they were stumped. But the counter guy did a cross check on the part number stamped on the plunger, and sure enough was able to find the correct NAPA accel. pump, only it was at another store. Now, I have no idea what make/brand my exisiting accel pump was, but they were able to cross check the number. Went to the other store, found it to match exactly, installed in the carb, now works fine. I'm not sure what kit I got or what the numbers were for the accel pump; I just got what NAPA suggested. Now, if I could only get the bowl to stop leaking.

But I do have to say, SSD's guidance and advice have always been spot on, and you'd save plenty of time and frustration just doing what he suggests. The next one I'll buy will be a Walker kit.
