Just got home,I am pooped, slept in the race car last night, not comfy.Got 6 runs in,best was this mornining, got a 11.507 at 115.17,was going to get one more at the end of the day was blowing about 15 mph tail wind and cool,so I was hopeing to break the 11.50s but they shut the track down due to weather comeing in.Had a great time and met some other slant racers,Dave Mueller for one. Will report later, need a shower.Guzzi Mark

Mark , Could you let us know what was required to be accepted to the show ? I haven't been there since 97. I think 12 seconds flat was the cutoff point. I think Good Guys are the same.

Romeo,THANK YOU for starting this post....There is no class or time requirement that I know of to run exhabition. When I called and told them I had a 62 Valiant, they said ok,they want pre 64 cars. Then I said it was a slant six and I got a pause,Oh.Then I told them it is flat black chop top that runs in the 11.s.Then I got,Please send pics...Thats how I got in......From what I was told the annoucer was saying about my car and all the interest I got I think I will bee invited back next year and not have to ask to run.Would have been even better if Dave Mueller was running his car against me.Two slant sixes side by side in the 11,s.Mark

Much like the Good Guys events, The Hot Rod Reunion is more into putting on a show and having fun. Cars like ours( all of the slanters ) have a visual presents and the sound of the old days that most people really enjoy. That is why they don't care that the Gassers do half track burnouts along with the Fuelers and Classic Funny Cars,Hell they promote long smokey burnouts. When Pure Hell or what ever it was called( The Altered) that crossed the center into the next lane and when around the Topilino as seen in the video the fans went wild.Even though winning is great,,satisfaction is the fun of putting on a show. It brought back many memories. I hope you had a great time.

Mark,

I would bet you can break that C/gas record too. Car will probably feel slow and hook up without a burnout if you put 350 lbs in the trunk... :D

Maybe that's what we need to get Mike to put the Buzzin' car back together - people start breaking his records!!

Lou

I wouldn't hold my breath on that.

He might get the blue car out if he keeps getting himself hit with HP in the Dippy though.
