Took the heater control out of the dash and the rubber vacuum connector to all of the door controls just crumbled into a million pieces!

I have a junk yard looking but no answer yet.

Is this part available at the dealer or somewhere?

Plus....it crumbled on the end that connects to all of the different colored tubes going to the doors. The pigtail itself is all black and maybe one red vacuum line. Anyone have a diagram of the plumbing connections so I can hook it back up properly?

Factory service manual should have a diagram. Mopar used these same connectors on many of its 70s and 80s cars trucks and vans. Look for Diplomats, Fifth Avenues, vans, Ramchargers, etc... to find a used replacement fitting.

What I really need is someone that can tell me which color is which.

I can manually splice each vacuum line with an 1/8"id rubber hose if I knew which color goes where.

It seems Dodge ran out of colored hose when they reached the vacuum control harness that attaches to the control unit. LOL!

All hoses are color coded on vehicle......but transition to black on the control harness after going through the rubber plug.

It seems this connector plug is no longer available. The only one my local junkyard had was in as bad a shape as mine.

Thanks Doc, I did end up finding that diagram at ramchargercentral.com listed as a 1987 diagram. I also found a 1990 diagram that had the colors going to different ports so was wondering if this was in fact the right diagram for a 1984.

The problem now is which way to look at the plug to determine #1 thru #7. Found a post where a guy did it one way and looking directly at the control unit itself it was

#7 #6 #5
#4 #3 #2 #1

Well looking at this, the schematic it shows the top as 5,6,7, and the bottom 1,2,3,4 (567 )

That's the way I was reading it also until this guy showed a picture of the plug and the lone red vacuum line in the pigtail he had labeled as #1. Said he had it backwards at first and that was the correct way.

I am thinking NOT at this point.

I just looked at whats left of my disentegrated rubber connector plug on the harness and that red line appears to be plugged internally by the rubber connector. #4 is shown as not connected and the 'normal' way I would look at this plug places that red line in the #4 position. That should be a good enough clue!

So, it is:

#5 #6 #7
#1 #2 #3 #4

Just like the schematic shows.

The dealer can get the vacuum control harness (p/n 3847622) in 3-4 days but cannot tell me if it includes the mating plug that all of the colored lines attach to that will plug into the harness.

Problem: $33.00 for the part that I have to pay for in advance with no guarantee that it includes everything I need.

Option 2: Buy proper sized i.d. hose and just splice each line individually into vacuum lines on my harness (plug that attaches to control unit is still servicable). This will cost only a few bucks (but a cheesy fix, LOL)

The number 4 spot on the plug is not used. It will be the red line in the harness you have now that plugs into the heater/ac control unit.

Found some in-line removable couplers for 1/8" OD line at a hydraulic/pneumatic shop. These worked out great.

Had no violet line, it was black all the way to the control. (the violet line turned to black on the schematic before it got to the #6 intake tap)

Hooked it up and it works great!
