Had it running for a while today. Doesn't sound too bad other than the rattle of the roller rockers. I wanted to get out to 41 but just plain ran out of ambition.

Wife and I went down to the shop this morning. I loaded the car up and took it out to an isolated country road for a couple test shots.

Car is kind of dead off the trans brake, but after it moves a couple feet spun the tires and really felt strong. I have the shift light chipped at 6000 and it was coming on very quickly. Thing pulls like a freight train in high gear too. :D

Best part is that it went back on the trailer under it's own power, no pan ventilation added.

I am supposed to pick up the Daytona from Jeff next weekend. I feel fairly safe in putting this motor in it now. :)

C-12 race gas smells pretty good too.

Question for you Zilla; is there enough air filter area for that engine to get a good gulp of air at WOT & red line?

Quite possibly not.

There will be a different filter on it when it goes into the Daytona for sure.

We are going to pull off maybe another two hundred pounds off our car and put in some of the new good stuff I have had for ten years and never put on the car. I know I woint be as fast as you but do think you can out race me. Well do you Bagel :D

Zilla what will be you CR now? And as i see you are using NOS? Do you know your ETs without spray? Hope It performs as you expect it to!!!

Also I notice that you have the alternator where the PS Pump is usually bolted, that is what i want to do to my Slant Dodge? Did you fab your own brackets for it or did you got them from another Slant car?

Martin

Slant on,

Martin, compression is now a true 11.3-1. No nitrous. I am hoping it will power the Daytona into the 12's somewhere. It will be on gas for a while, then I will switch over to methanol.

The bracket is off of a '64 A-100 pickup motor.

Possum, I haven't raced much the last few years at all, but I'll still slide back into the seat to whip your azz any time.

Right now though, the plan is that my wife will do most of the driving. :D

Hmmm,... You better watch it 'Zilla! I hear tell that Judy Parker runs dead on her number every time!

Do I feel a "Powder Puff Challenge" in the works? Bwahahahahaha...
