Just a thought. Has anyone done this for more oil flow? Thinking more for a high revving engine.

I filed some grooves in the down side of my lifter bores,not real deep but enough in theory to get some extra oil around them.Guzzi Mark

For awhile I've been looking at the grooving tool that Comp sells, might experiment with a file or make a tool out of a used lifter and a nitride drill bit.

The procedure can't hurt as long as you follow the advice above inthe post, and I would add a tall bushing in the lifter valley drain holes so you have a standing reserve of oil.

I'm planning on running 8000 RPM and I'm not worried about the lifters. If the lifters were pressure fed and I was worried about the cam to lifter interface I'd buy lifters with the tiny EDM hole in the face. Since all we have is gravity I think the groove in the lifter bore would have to be appropriately sized. If you have dumbbell lifters they hold an oil supply which helps the lifter, but does nothing for the cam.
