Hello, I am new to the forum. I have a Sublime Green 1974 Dodge Dart with a 225 slant six and 904 column shift. I bought it about 2 years ago and I have all the work on it exept the actual respray. I worked the entire summer after my sophomore year and got the 900 together to purchase this. I put quite a bit into the paint and body. I am now a senior in highschool:







My question is: Does anybody know the cheapest way to back off how sensitive the power steering is?

If you are looking for a bit more resistance in the steering you can swap to a smaller steering wheel, that is about as cheap as you can get. Next idea is to replace the power steering with a manual steering box from a junk yard, but that's a bit of work. If it were me, I'd save up and get a power steering box from FFI.

If none of those options work for you, then I'd like to be the first to welcome you to Chrysler full-time power steering, its a bit different than a modern car, eh?

Thank you. I do have a 13" Grant wheel in it already (don't have pictures yet). I was thinking about changing the lines and fittings coming from and going to the pump, more restriction, less flow.

I think it has been posted here before something about different pumps and pressures. You may want to do a search. Welcome ,, It is great to see younger folks getting involved in the hobby.

I like the ability to turn the whels lock to lock with my pointer finger

I know that you can adjust play and to a degree sensitivity by adjusting the slotted stud that has a lock nut on it on the box. In is stiffer and out is looser. They book says to do this while turning the column by hand under the hood while running. It should not be too easy to turn if set right if I remember.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
