I ordered motor mounts at napa and the ones that came are totally different than what's on my car. 1970 Duster with 225. Anyone have a part number I can try when I go back tomorrow?

NAPA only lists the right side on their web site, as BK 6021665. Oddly enough, RockAuto only lists a right side part as well... (Anchor #2276)

Here's a link to the NAPA part, so you can see if it looks like what you need: http://tinyurl.com/26oy9y8

That looks exactly like what I have. The ones on the car look completely different. I'll upload a pic in a minute.

This is taken from the driver side, looking down at the engine. There are no ears on either side and there is only one stud coming out of the top (I think there are two on the bottom but I didn't crawl underneath the car last night). Both sides are pretty much like this, I think they are the same.

can't make out the picture very well. But mounts for a 69 "A" body are different then for a 70. Check them.

It seems that the mounts on my car are '69 style. We looked them up at napa and they look like a much better match. The 70 style are just completely different.

Does this mean that I probably have other 69 parts on my front end as well? :?

Many basic K-frame and suspension parts can be swapped between all 62-76 A-Body Mopars... you can even swap back to 1960... if you know what to do.

So it is possible to replace the front suspension assembly with different year components, that have some small differences.
After 40+ years... it is hard to say or pinpoint what work has been done to a "previously owned" vehicle.
What does your VIN number say...
Over the years I have found a number of V- 8 cars that now have SL6 engines (and K-Frames) in them.

doc...does this mean i can find an interchangeable pitman arm for my 62 lancer gt? bridgetown told me i needed to replace mine before they would do my front end alignment...but chris was on vacation and i'm thinking i should go back when he's around. months ago he told me i needed a steering box first, so i finally got me one from dick at firm feel (fantastic difference!) and now they want me to throw a pitman arm in there.

a little birdie kind of misinformed me about a lot of things, so i'm confused about what was accurate and what wasn't. the birdie told me that i have a special pitman arm that is one-year only and impossible to find.

so...fact? fable? foible?

PS i got my motor mounts at wildcat....just sayin'.

Doc's basic statement does not apply to everything.

Pitman and idler arms interchange '62-66, as do K-frames. 67-up K frames are 2" too wide for the '66 down cars. All upper and lower control arms, spindles, tie rods/ends will interchange over '62-76 (must match UCAs to spindles). Ball joints depend on spindles (brake type) used.
