I was wondering if anyone who had made their own headers could shed some insight on how difficult of a task this is. I own a couple plasma torches, a CNC machine, a hobart welder (110 mig) and assorted metal working tools, and anything I don't have, my high school metal shop does, like a pipe bender and tig and ark welders. I wanted to know if, and how to make a 4 barrel intake myself if its even possible.

It's possible.......

I'd start with an exhaust system (easiest), then headers (a bit harder). Plus being totally leakproof isn't as necessary as with an intake manifold.

You can buy prebent mandrel tubing in 90 and 180 degrees and chop up as necessary.

Ok, I'm in the process of making a full 2.25" exhaust with a 24" glasspack. What diameter pipe should I use for the header?

1-5/8"

Schoenfeld makes 3-1 collectors, and there is a guy on E-Bay who sells some very nice flanges. He goes by 4ourAces I believe.

1.5" for header pipes

Make 2 groups of 3 (front 3,rear 3)

Secondary should be 2" if you're using 2.25" as final pipe.

Yep and scroll to the bottom to see the intake and exhaust picture.
