I have a 1963 Dart project that is GOING to get an A833 OD transmission one way or the other. I have contacted Brewer's Performance and been told that the clutch fork is the problem. The OD unit is too long. I have the ball stud type bellhousing. The car now has its original 170 and three speed column shift. In looking at the bellhousing and clutch linkage now, it appears after a few quick measurements that this will come really close to...if not bolt right in. Has anyone else done this? What am I missing? Even if I have to modify a clutch fork, this transmission is GONNA go in. Any insight would be appreciated. I am building a warm 225 to go in the car, btw.

I used a McLeod slip-on hydraulic throwout bearing and Wilwood clutch master cylinder on my '64 Dart T5 swap. Has worked well for 8 yrs.

It's been a few years since doing this swap but it is pretty close to a "bolt-in"... with the exception of cutting a large hole into the floor.
Anyway, for the fork, I remember using the fork out of the 3-speed bell and fork pivot.
I think we had to modify the pivot so it worked in the later bell-housing and kept the folk centered on the throw-out bearing contact pads.

Yes, this is somewhat similar to what Brewer's said. However, the more I look at what's there now, the more I wonder if it won't bolt right in. Because now, the linkage between the Z bar and the end of the clutch fork is not on parallel with the car's centerline. It runs at an angle going from the Z bar towrads the centerline of the car. In other words, it has a horizontal slant towards the passenger side....if that makes sense. The OD clutch fork is longer than the three speed. So that would mean it would likely run from the Z bar to the clutch fork going towards the driver's side a little bit. As long as there's enough adjustment to make the clutch work, would that really make a difference? I guess I will know as I start to mock it all up. Thanks much for the input.
