Is the first stud in the head a blind hole? wrestling with a broken EZ out in the first hole and want to punch it through with a pin punch and rethread the cast iron. Thanks for any suggestions.

The manifold attaching studs go into the head's water jacket.

great, came back to post that it in fact does. finally got my broken crap out of the hole and managed top save the majority of the threads! I had an extractor stuck in there and was able to drill a much smaller hole next to it and pound the extractor chip out the back with a punch. The rest of the shell was picked out with a nail and some needle nose pliers. I am happy.
