Check out the side-draft intake manifold on ebay:

Item number: 360046650357

Says it came off of an old motor home. Who knew?

I saw a manifold for the slant 6 at a swap meet years ago that took 2 British SU carbs, side drafts. Wish i had bought it, would have been different anyway. Any idea what that cam from?

Lynx made those double SU intakes down in Austrailia. They also made a triple SU and a single Weber DCOE slant intake. Based on the examples I've seen, the casting quality was cruder than either Offy or Clifford. They still show up on eBay from time to time, but I think Lynx stopped making them some time ago.

Our Aussie friends at PP&R (who are making the new, long-runner slant intakes talked about in a recent thread) still offer a triple SU slant intake:

These are for a 1-3/4" bore SU like the HS6.

Forum member old6rodder is running a Lynx triple SU intake on one of his creations:

This is indeed a Clark Cortez motorhome intake, made by Chrysler in the USA and completely different from the various aftermarket sidedraught manifolds made in Australia by Lynx, Warneford, Cain, and maybe Speco.

For more info on the Cortez intake, see here, here , and here.

Australia. Warneford, Lynx, or Cain, maybe Speco. They made double- and triple-carb intakes. See some pics of the various triple-SU units here.

I think those should be added to the MPG thread as what not to put on for good mileage.

A question about the 2 barrel manifolds. Is the aluminum version that was sold thru Direct Connection any different than the stock super six aluminum manifold? Better worse? Good for street or more of a race product? Does it work with the same carb. set up?

The DC/MP 2bbl intake was essentially a sandcast aluminum Super Six intake. Casting quality is A-number-1, definitely this is not the 2-piece EB-welded production item. The claim was made that the runners were larger in cross-section, but I think the consensus is "not so much".

I personally liked the 'claim' that it would add 10% more horsepower to the slant... when looking at the 'advertised' ratings at the time, it would be about 3-5 more horsepower over 'stock'(I can think of other things to spend the $$$ on that make a bit more power than that...)

LOL...
