I would be interested in the group by if it is available. However I want them for the 198 rods and .100 oversize?

You should check Ross Pistons out also. I beleieve the yquoted me somewhere in the $350-$375 range for a custom set of forged pistons.

I would be in for 400 on a really good set, if they were light and high quality. How many sets did they say were needed to be ordered before they would set up and make some?

LOL, what's up man? What can I say, I love good engines of all makes! :) I've got this little Dart that I think would make a killer EFI turbo car, and I've got the parts laying around to built it CHEAP, but I'm not gonna bother with it unless I get those forged pistons. Now, what about forged rods??

had the post above this are you looking at flattops? or domed high-comp. pistions or what because I'd be interested in possibly the flattops but I'm really wanting dished as I'll going to be doing a turbo setup for my car that I'll be running around 10-12 psi from an audi 1.8 turbo :D

Factory SL6 rods are forged, with good prep you can get the to factory con rods to handle 300-400 HP

These would be low compression (8.0 to 8.5) so yes they would be dished. This would also allow more radical cams. In regards to turbo'ing, what size turbo is on that Audi? A .63 T3 is very well matched to a stock /6 so I would think that a smaller turbo would be running a bit out of its efficiency range.

Doctor Dodge: That is great news! One less thing to worry about. ;)

Ya I'm still researching possible turbo's I'd just seen those and they output 13psi stock, but I'll most go with s turbo from an eclipse or something from a 2.2 or above and I'll research the turbo you listed. I just want something that's going to spool up super quick. As for the pistons I'm definately in then as I was looking at Ross pistons on their site and they were going to be around $525 for a set don't know if that even included rings. So let me know what happens with the pistons.

I think the audi turbo would be too small. the turbo might overspin. The .63 t-3 from a TC should boost 1600-1800 rpm. and should be good to 4800-5000 rpm.

Hey, Moturbopar......Did you ever get a response from Diamond about this?

Everybody else.....I looked through Ross's site, and found a listing for stock replacement 170 pistons, for the price of $390. That page doesn't say whether they're forged or cast, however. Anybody happen to know?

Why am I so interested?......just found out that my wife and niece
"cleaned out" some shelves in the garage at my second house location. :(
 Yeah..........TWO sets of L2125F's, (30 & 60 over), rings, bearings, a Clifford manifold, a disassembled truck 225, along with a bunch of older TRW stock replacement stuff. Enough to build a complete engine. :x :x All in all, probably about 3-4 grand worth of parts that almost no one even makes anymore, gone to a scrap heap somewhere in Iowa.  And, I'm stuck in Egypt until at least January.

Oh, well......maybe someday we'll, (men), figure out how to continue the species without thier contribution.

Oh, yeah......she says...."I'll have to start over". Does that mean the marriage, too? :?

What the... she just randomly goes cleaning your stuff without even asking? Does she realize how much the parts were worth? And she still said "oh well" afterwords? Oh man if my lady ever did that I don't think she'd ever come out of the dog house!

Well, before we all get too nasty about it, she's in for a rude awakening with the "start over" comment. She does NOT know, (yet), about the '81 Challenger body that I picked up right before this deployment. THAT will be my dedicated drag car body, with a slant of course. I've got intentions of a blown, EFI'd car, with the obligatory tube frame and narrowed rear, so it's probably gonna cost some bucks, being as the engine will require forged slugs for the pressure. Oh, but wait.......I don't have a car trailer to haul it around, either.

On top of that, resurrecting the old '68 Dart GT, making it a cosmetic GTS and doing all but a ground up restore to it. I've had the GT for over 23 years, and I'm not getting rid of it.

Well, at least I don't go out drinkin' and whorin'.

Roger
