I am looking at Getting an Inland Empire Alum. Driveshaft for ruster when Funds allow,


Will a 3" tube be good for a racer under 350 HP and Slicks?


It says that the 3" tube will support up to 500HP with street tires.


Thanks for the insight.


I would like ot get the 3" 'cause it's lighter and Cheaper then the 3.5" tube if possible.

Usually they state a max length for 3" and 3.5" too. I would think 3" would be fine.

Agree with Lou, Find out if they are comming to MATS( I usually see them there )if so I can pick it up and bring it back east with me to save you shipping. I plan to do so right after.

The one I had made for the '64 was 3.5" and from Denny's Driveshaft. Nice quality and good guys. I think it was just a hair longer than their max length for 3".

the one in my truck is from a ford aerostar van.it was the perfect lenght,some ford rangers have an aluminum one and their shorter than the aerostar

My Dakota R/T has an aluminum shaft in it. I think it is 4". Find one and you have overkill for sure. :D

I used Inland Empire Drive Shaft in Ontario, Ca back in 1986 when I dropped a 71 383ci out of a 1971 Polara Wagon in to a 1977 Dodge Charger S/E. It worked great and they did a fine job!

Inland Empire D-L Also has carbon Fibre Shafts - i wonder what the Weight and Price Difference is between Fiber and Aluminum?

If you put a carbon fiber driveshaft on that car, I will demand for you to change the name from Ruster Racer to something more appropriate!! :D
