Does anyone have pics of the upright marine slant? I'm curious as to how the water lines run and if any of the hoses are molded.

I have no picture but I do remember that almost all mopars sold in the 60's/70's had Chrysler boats ads/lit stuffed into every glove box-maybe someone has some lit that shows engine pictures?

No such engine. The slant-6 was slanted the rest of the way over so the cylinders were horizontal—not tilted to vertical.

This was in a 16' Chrysler glass runabout.

What never happened? That slant-6 is slanted as normal, not upright.

(Maybe by "upright" was meant "not the horizontal one, but the normally slanted one"?)

Yes, that is what I meant, the normal position, not the horizonal.

I'm going to look at a '68 Correct Craft 16' next week that is slant six powered. The motor is out of the boat, the manifold off the motor and the hoses are gone. I'd like to see what I'm getting into before jumping in.

Here's the motor for the boat.

Thanks for the pics so far. They answer a few questions I have. Any others?

Currently I have a '75 Bonito 15'6" tri-hull with a 70 horse Johnson 'looper'. It runs great but I'd like to replace it with an inboard boat, preferably with one that is Chrysler Marine powered.

The seller wants $600 for the Correct Craft. It was disassembled and painted several years ago, then never finnished. It needs a floor installed, stringers are solid, has a new windshield and seats, most or all parts are supposed to be there. I hope this boat is worth it. I think it will outperform my Bonito by a few MPH, get better KPG (knots per gallon) and not spew out oil/gas into the water like my old 2 stroke Johnson.

I found this flyer in a '67 Hemi Charger (early Hemi cars had a special manual) owners manual 18 years ago. The horizonal slant is listed as the Flat 6, the normal position slant the OHV 6. Note they still has a flathead six in '67! I don't have the flyer any longer, I let it go when I sold the manual 8 years ago.

I thought that looked familiar! Not a bad price for a boat and an easy to work on engine.

Hey Dennis,
I've been working nites and long hours so I haven't had time to hang out here. I do check out Moparts several times a week. As you can see by this thread that I haven't gotten any smarter if I'm looking to buy another project I won't have time for.
BTW, it's good to see Seymore finally came out of his cave and joined the computer generation.

I found a few pics. This one happens to be in the same model Correct Craft, only 2 years newer - '70 vs '68, as the one I'm interested in buying.

The owner of this boat pulled the motor to replace the stringers, flooring and fix a rear main leak.
