A well hidden barn find was discover and brought to my home today. It has some very obvious race features that I will point out as you look at the pictures. Vital statistics are: 225 Industrial engine and automatic transmission with gear reduction rear end. Total weight as built 5850#. Built in 1980. I am a little puzzled why an obvious racing vehicle has a passenger seat in it. Any help would be appreciated.

Image
Obvious, Big tires on the rear and skinnies on the front.

Image
Super low front facia made of 1/2" plate. Ground clearance 1 1/2" Aero should be great

Image
Not sure if this is for the wheelie bar or the parachute. See stainless zommie in the lower right. Also has a 1 1/2" thick plate 30" square mounted on it to aid with traction.

Image
Factory ratchet shifter proves this was for racing. Also see the parachute lever beside it.

Image
Passenger side Alternator for better weight distribution.

Image
Factory dual ballast racing ignition system.

Well, that is enough of the craziness. There are a lot of good parts on this thing. Some things I will use some I will sell. If you see something you want let me know. Basically I got it for the engine and tranny. The electronic ignition, alternator, and starter are all things I can use. Once I start dismantling it I will put a post in the for sale section.

Rick

That cooling fan could be used for propulsion !

I like the Slingshot seating arrangement.....

Getter down to 1800 lbs and I think it could be competitive......might be awkward at 117mph in the lights though.....

You're right on that one. But I really just think your jealous! It will be dismantled long before Mason Dixon for the $$$ Scrap prices on 5000# are pretty good. Besides, I don't want to be embarrassed! It does have a 727 with a e-brake mounted on the tail shaft. The tail shaft may be a little shorter too, but it is buried in this thing so I can't see it very well. Has rear end that aims rearward into some kind of gear reduction. Someone may want that for somthin!

1800? You mean 3800# right?

I also forgot it has a straight axle and leaf springs, so it has that whole "gasser" thing going for it too! :D

Luggage? Do you really need something that weighs 3 tons with driver for luggage?

I'm pretty sure that it was used for the big luggage trailers at the airport.

Did you ever weigh your wifes luggage when she went on a trip? Multiply that by a couple hundred. :D

It has power brakes that are big. Maybe 4" wide from what I can see.

Y'all missing the point. It's not for hauling luggage, it's for crushing luggage.

Big D is quite right. Get it runnin' and drive it around the neighborhood! Heck, someone may need a stump pulled! Looks like the "bobbed" pick-up bed could support a few cases of beer!

Well as small as it is I guess I could mount a mower on it and mow my grass. It would be a Mower/ roller combo.
