Seems like a never ending saga of issues since I began my rebuild/restification, and now it's a sudden, severe power steering leak from the pump shaft.

I have a Saginaw pump with a pressed-on pulley, and I guess I have three options. Rebuild it myself. Buy a remanufactured...and Cardone is the only thing I can find...or try to find a NOS or NORS somewhere.

I really don't want to try rebuilding it, and I'm not enthused about a reman, so first I'd like to try and find a new one. Does anyone know a source for such a critter?

If new parts are unavailable, does anyone of a reman that might be better than Cardone?

You can look into these two vender's offerings here, and here. I have not used their rebuilt pumps, but have purchased other items and services from them.

My 1971 Saginaw PS pump blew its shaft seal on the way home from a show w/o warning, so I rebuilt it with an inexpensive Harbor Freight puller kit; it was easier than rebuilding a carb. The only thing I'd mention is that the rebuilt kit came with 2 very similar O-rings of different thicknesses, and the details on which to use was on the backside of the instruction sheet where it was very easy to overlook ("And take back one Kadan..."). The pressure line was frozen solid and got destroyed, but I had no problem getting another. The return line was 11/32" and the local NAPA handed me 3/8" on me when I asked for 11/32" - I eventually found 11/32" at a (now defunct) dealer.
