The 225 had 87,600 miles on it when it went in. I have put over 100 1/4 mile passes without turbo on the car. Shaker might know this already.

With the tune being correct before first pass that is.

Good luck and have fun. Remember, making power is more important than high boost psi numbers... The Drake's 9.85 run was with 11-13 psi.

Hope to have some fun, without up setting the track to bad :) It would not be the first time tho. The track has pissed me of allot more than a few times.

You have just said what a few others have said. I will be raising the boost for performance. When the ET increase stops so will the boost. Thanks for you input on this Lou.

I ran close to 30 psi in mine. It had pleanty of learning on it (mistakes). It had many beat street miles and 30+ full throttle drag passes. A piston failed...the weird thing was all of the rings were lined up and that is where it melted. Almost like it was a torch when they lined up.

BTW, your poll does not have 30 psi..I did not vote.

Shaker is one of the resident boost experts, so listen to him more than me. I'm starting small (6psi), hopefully next weekend at Kearney. I will drive the car there from MN (500 mi) and back, so I'm a bit more conservative.

I was going to add a 30, just thought it would not be realistic, I have been following your build for a while. You voted, just not in the poll

What fuel pressure or what kind of fuel system do you have? That fuel filter looks alittle dangerous next to the turbo housing. Just saying.

Hello Ryan, Now set @ 6psi, MSD EFI fuel pump, I am waiting on a 90* for the carb so I can move the fuel filter!
Image
The Mallory #4309. 3-PORT COMPETITION FUEL PRESSURE regulator with VACUUM/BOOST COMPENSATION PORT (RETURN STYLE) Adjustment is from 3-12 PSI (approximate)

So now we have two votes for the 30psi just not in the poll, guess I should have added that.

Also looks like a vacuum carb. Secondarys may not close when boost is on.....Normally a DP is used. be aware.

I think you were talking about the vacuum for the secondaires? The carb has, manual secondaries with no choke area at all. The fella that sold me that, said it should work fine for my application, what do you think Shaker? Thanks again for your knowledge.

Should work fine then. Just make sure your AFR is correct. Lean is the biggest killer of parts. Are you planning on using an O2 sensor?

I did not plan on running one? Do you think I should?

Took the car for a ride today!! Sounds just like my buddys Dodge Diesel truck is what my neighbor said. The truck he was talking about is running a 5" exhaust and a Bully Dog system :!:

The car is quite faster @ not even 1/2 throttle shifting at 3000rpm. I did not want to run it to hard, no wastegate yet! I still have the RN12YC'S in it, no carb adjustment yet, timing has not been touched. This is how it was set up for my best pass without turbo.
