Trying to figure out which 2-bbl progressive Weber bolts up to stock /6 carb linkage: do I need the DGEV (counter-clockwise rotation) or DFEV (clockwise rotation)? Thanks,

Hi b5cuda.
The stock carb throttle axle rotates clockwise, when seen from the side of the engine where the carb sits.

If you have an auto gearbox that will require a kickdown mechanism, you can always go to a universal cable operated system.

Click the search button at the top of the page, and enter 'weber AND linkage' in the search text field, and you'll get a list of more than 160 hits on the subject.

What intake manifold do you have, or plan to use?

Thanks for the reply. I did more searching and it seems like most guys use the DGEV, not DFEV, with the /6 so I will go that way and see how it all hooks up. Planning to use a factory super-six (two barrel) manifold and keep as many stock parts as possible. Goal is a nice driver for my daughter and the Weber sounds like a good way to go.

If you can get a complete super six setup, and the stock Carter BBD carburetor is in good working order, that will probably give you a better and more powerful solution than the Weber 32/36.

From what have been said by others here in the forum, I have gotten the impression that the Weber is a step-up from a 1-bbl carb, but I doubt that it will impress you when compared with the stock super six BBD setup.
Unless you are totally set on a Weber, you can also still get a new Holley 2280 on eBay, the carb that replaced the Carter BBD, and that use all the stock super six linkage, while giving similar performance to the BBD.

If you go for Weber, take a look here if you need an adapter that let you use an ordinary 4-bbl air filter on a Weber.

BTW, a vital part to remember with a Weber, you need a fuel pressure regulator, the Weber want 2.5~3 psi fuel pressure.

As for me, I'm using a Weber 38DGES mounted sideways on an Offy 4bbl intake. I still need to borrow my wife's camera to take some pics.
The main reason I mounted it this way was because the throttle "hookup" was on the driver's side.

I have a Weber. Maybe the one made with Weber plans?

I am thinking the smaller primary would give a big boost to economy.
