Thanks Ceej, ill be picking up a set of 8s to test out, not sure which ones yet, may end up with the good ones...I got kinda used to expensive plugs when i was Tuning my stealth.

As for ignition I just moved from hei/blaster to the Ford EDIS crank triggered ignition controlled by a megajolt box and pushing a 96 voyager coil(same style as a hot coil i saw on diyautotune)... will likely upgrade to full COP when i find the ideal coils... may end up using upgraded Ford coil near plug coils for that...not sure yet.

RE: washers... yep always have removed those.
It didn't help that the engine was zero decked and was running hyper alum pistons ... i was not aware that it was zero decked until i tore it apart after the recent unpleasantness...

Hopefully the cooler plugs will allow more advance at cruise and get her a little better mileage. I hope it wont be too difficult to find the sweet spot... gotta get some better mileage for her, the thing has been a pig for a while now.

Edit: are these the ones you're talking about:

The "P" means the insulator is Projected. With zero deck, I take it you have moderately high compression. Projected type plugs are not as desireable in a high compression application, as they can become the source of a hot spot, and thus detonation.

See if you can find a B8ES or B8EV.

Cool thanks. I didn't find those on a quick check with Mr. Google so then i figured maybe you forgot the p. Anyway, ill look a little harder later today and see what i can come up with locally. Do you have any thoughts on what timing curve i should start with?

Just about every build is different. For a performance application, Try base of around 10°, tip in at 1400 or so, get it all in by 3000. Limit total "Mechanical" timing to 32°
Your going to have to experiment with it to find out what works best.
