Does anyone know the procedure to change the timing chain? I have a 1975 swinger just did the valves thanks to the well written article on this site and could use a little help making sure I do the time chain right. I have the shop manuals but they don't really talk you thru how to change it. Any help would be great!

will you have the normal things to remove rad, hoses ,belts, then pulleys and dampener, the cover is then unbolted with the first 2 bolts in the base pan on each side also. take two stub flat screw drivers and wedge between the base pan and block rail to unload the timing cover from the locating pins, watch the gasket.is there a stock cam in this engine?

when you install the new chain and gears, first line up the dots on the old gears before removing them, the dot face each other, then use a straight edge to line up the dots going straight through the gear bolts center line, that will get you close for a stock cam.
