my name is dimagg and I am from germany. And I bought a `71 Valiant 170 4dr sedan.Car is running great and it is in a very good condition.But I have
a question about the engine. There is a number on the right side under
the manifold that says:

2463230-2

And the number under the first plug says:

G P 20525

Please can anybody tell me what that numbers are meaning.

Your car was probably built in Switzerland by AMAG. The 2,8L (170) engine was not used in North American cars after baujahr 1969, and the engine stamping number is not in North American format. 2463230 is the LG block (2,8).

V: Valiant
L: Low trim/price class
41: 4-door sedan
A: 170 engine
181 1176: Not in North American format, probably Swiss-built

Is there a metal kennezeich attached to the inner fender, visible when you open the hood, with letters and numbers stamped on it? If so, please show us a clear, focused picture of it. (Also we'd like to see some other photos of your car!)

the Fendertag says " Automontage Schinzach AG "
But what is that number " G P 20525 "
meaning?

the 8 = Schinznach (plant)
11176 = running number (mine had 11041)

GP 20525 - any more signs (cross or so?)

You car was fitted with a sticker on the rear window "montage + suisse"
