What do you guys think? I got a buddy who is going to trade some parts I dont need for his stock Buick GN turbo. Im building up my 69 Dart for max mpg. I was thinking about adding the turbo with low boost to raise VE and gain some power/mpg. I saw a link on here where a guy added a turbo to his stock slant using a 1bbl.

Car is a stock 69 Dart with a cast crank/peanut head 225 904 with 2.76 gears and the HEI upgrade. I am buying an aluminum 1bbl intake and 904 L/U trans from Wes.Has a 1945 carb now,but was thinking about picking up a 1920...what do you turbo guys think?

I'm no turbo expert for sure, but trying to use a 1bbl with boost seems counter-productive.

From a performance stand point; I would agree. But from a budget build/max mpg stand point I am wondering if it would work.

I added a turbo with the one barrel about 13 years ago. The car ran high 15's on an otherwise stock 71 Dart with 200K on it. That was about 7 pounds of boost. Fuel mileage stayed the same as long as I kept my foot out of it.

What turbo/carb did you use? Was it intercooled? What did you run for ignition?
