I have not been working on the car for the last couple weeks very much. I have some other "home" things to do. But I did get a couple things done the last few days.

First, after a long wait I did finally get my new door seals. The doors do shut much better now than the did with the universal fit ones. I got the tail lights and new gaskets all installed along with the chrome on the top of the rear quarters. Also reassembled the Passenger side door stuff. Installed new cat whiskers, and my re-dyed door panel. Painted the bases and dyed the arm rest and got the chrome on the tops of the door and rear side glass installed. Right side is starting to look pretty good. Also installed my High output /6 emblems, since I liked them. Now I'm off to do the same thing on the drivers side. Also found 2 mint headlight buckets so I can get my lights mounted soon also.

After this I plan to finish my wiring and get her running.

Rick

That is such a Sweet Ride!

I love the body lines of the '64-5 Valiants / Barracudas.

You've done an awesome job with it Rick!

I can't wait to see it in person! Mason-Dixon 2012... :D

Yeah, And the guy that did the body work wasn't happy about it either. It made it kind of flimsy. That was something I did 25 years ago. I did have another trunk lid but it was bent pretty bad.

I like the paint scheme on the trim! Good alternative to chrome and fits car's mojo. When you gonna test drive this dragon?

Well, I have to paint my garage before cold weather (30X40) so that will take some time, but I hope to have it ready to fire up in a month or two. Now that the tranny is in, I need to get my drive line cut and the rear spring perches welded fast.

I take a week of vacation around Thanksgiving, so that would give me a good time to shoot for. I'd have a whole week to get all the little details worked out and hear it run.

I plan to get the D/S door and window all buttoned up tomorrow evening and then move on to the rest of my wiring & gauges. Who knows, maybe it will run before thanksgiving!

I never liked all the "stuff" over on the passenger side of the engine, so I set out to move the alternator to the left side as simply as I could. I had an old power steering bracket that bolts right to engine in the normal P/S location. (This is only the outer half of the P/S bracket.) I did flip it upside down also to get the bracket where I wanted it. I bolted a factory Alternator to the to ears sticking out and the belt was just a little too far forward. So a couple wraps with "MR. Hammer" moved it just enough. Then I took the stock alternator adjuster bracket and flipped it over and low and behold it fit perfectly. The bend actually looks like it was made for it. The only "fabrication was to the end of the PS bracket where the alternator bolted to it. The ends are slotted and open, so I welded 2 washers to it so the alternator couldn't just lift out of the bracket. All in all, pretty simple and cheap! I had everything except the belt. 42 1/2" FYI. I also had plenty of room around my Clifford long tube headers.

Thanks Rick!

I'm making a list of different things I want to "fiddle with" after Clay City.

I'm really hoping that now that (hopefully) the Duster is able to run and make noise and do burnouts, etc some of the local teenagers will take more of an interest and we can get the "GodsRods Gang" started back up.

I need more hands than mine in all this stuff.

Your detailed pictures really help me with the ideas. Thanks! :D

Still plugging away at the little things that need done. (100's of them) But it is starting to look better and better all the time. The front turn signals are now in and I found my rear view mirror packed away. (Wish i could find my wiper motor!!) I also painted the rear bumper and it looks Ok for now. Chrome is definitely in its future. I found two nice sets of drip edge chrome packed away and I got them installed.
