Yesterday I installed the super six intake onto my 73 duster, Im still working out some kinks on the Carb.. the biggest problem I have now is the kickdown.. I first tried the stock 1 bbl one.. that didn't work so I put the super 6 one on and it acts exactly the same.. I adjusted and still nothing.. the trans lever is still the stock one. is that the problem? Is there a way to use the stock one? What have you guys done?
Thanks

Stock throttle position rod from one barrel is different than two barrel’s rigging.

Most likely you will need to convert to a kick-down cable with some sort of adapter on carburetor to give correct architecture so that throttle and transmission work properly together such as this OEM Mopar based set-up. There are other brand cables and adapters one can use as well, and most of the above example can be scrounged from a junk yard.

You may or may not need to change throttle position lever on transmission to one of a different length depending on how carburetor is adapted to accept its new linkage or cable configuration.

What brand carburetor are you using?

Don't see why you should need to convert to a nonstock kickdown linkage. That'll work if you want to engineer it, but the complete factory 2bbl setup will drop right on and work correctly. It must be complete: all rods, pivots, springs, brackets, the shorter 2bbl throttle cable, and the correct kickdown lever on the transmission.

What do you mean by the kickdown "doesn't work"? The linkage doesn't physically fit? It doesn't hook up to the carb? The transmission no longer kicks down? ????

OK well right now I'm running the 2bbl super six intake, headers ,super 6 Carb along with super six linkage, stock throttle cable and stock trans lever.. when I take off my car shifts through all 3 gears within 3 seconds on a regular take off.. when I floor it from 40 mph it doesn't kickdown.. everything is bolted up fine.. just doesn't shift right..
