Rollers do NOT eliminate vale tip wear, they just put it in a different shape, especially since rollers still have oiling issues for street use. Rollers also do not eliminate that much friction because we don't have stupid high valve spring pressures. Also, these are not true rollers, but rather roller tip.

They eliminate some friction, but I bet the gain is almost immesurable.

well they have oiling issues cuz the company obviously didn't make them right... there are 100's of roller tip rockers in use on the street...

True, but not on Slants. Look at the valve layout, you have to run oil uphill to get to the valve stems.

On most V-8's the oil runs downhill to the valves.

RAS was supposed to correct that situation on the new generation, but so far no one can say one way or the other since nobody can actually get any that work.

Believe me, if they actually were of any value on a Slant I'd be the first one to say so. You can keep deluding yourself if you want to, but there are a ton of better ways to spend money on your motor that will actually work.

i am working out a cam that will not need roller rockers...

and the oil is pressurized... sounds like the amount and direction is a big problem...

I will agree they are down the list as far as spending money. I never debatbed that. As for the other, I've seen some dial indicator readings with both stock rockers and rollers with some fairly "loose" guides. The results were vastly different. We'll just have to agree to disagree there. Rollers reduce those frictions in ALL the other applications they are used in. That includes factory applications such as diesels and the like. Certainly, there's no "magical powers" that stop them from working in a slant.

You were doing pretty well until you got to the diesel part. There is only one reason diesels get rollerized parts and that is for reliability in contaminated oil.

You have never looked at a Slant head that had roller rockers run on it on the street have you? I guarantee that the valve tips will still be worn, just in a different pattern.

I have a really good idea how to fix the oiling issue in my RAS rockers, but I am really not sure I want to go to the trouble and risk ruining a $425 set of rockers that will never see street use again.
