I drove my 62 Valiant for the last time this season today. Sometimes when I stop fairly hard it will start making a clunking noise when it gets down to about 10MPH which continues until stopped. The noise seems to come from the right front and seems to be syncronized with the rotation of the wheel. I have Wilwood disc brakes on the front and the bushings, tie rod ends, and idler arm, look to be in good shape. The wheels are on tight and the bearing preload seems about right. Any ideas as to the source of such a noise? I haven't noticed it under any other conditions.

How bent is the rotor? If you get enough runout sliding calipers can sound "clunkish"

Could be a cracked rotor or unevenness on the rotor surface (rust patch…?) knocking the pads every time it comes around.
