Will a 8 1/4 or 8 3/4 rear end be to heavy for a stock slant six duster to move?

No. Slant six cars came stock with 8 1/4 and 8 3/4 rear axles, including Dusters.

My 74 Duster originally came with an 8 1/4 rear w/ 3.55 gears. Very zippy car but highly annoying over 45 MPH.

My D-150 has an 8 1/4 with 3.25 gears, and they are almost the perfect street gear.

No problem! I run one in my 74 Swinger daily driver. It also has a sure-grip which is great in the snow and ice. It was no detriment to getting good mileage either!
