that was the quick post!

the link is fixed,,

got this as a kit,,
was 133.00 + shipping to do both doors, minus the vent windows,, I'll do some digging to find the receipts,, and the sellers name..

I have on order the vent window and windshield seals,, have not got them yet. I found a windshield seal for 3.95, I went ahead an ordered one just to see what a 4 dollar windshield seal looks like... the chrome lock strip was 40.00, a black one can be bought for 16.00 My OE rear window seal looks fine, plan to re use it.

after I bought this kit I did find a Precision set that did both doors , + vents + windshield+ back window for 233.00

regards

DT

I put some precision seals on my D150 one time, couldn't get the doors to shut afterwards. Wound up taking them back off and getting a set of mopar door seals.

Exciting progress DT! You folks may remember Kenny from the banquet last year or Clay City one year ago - great guy and one heck of a bodyman/painter. DT and myself are slowly working on Kenny to get involved in the slant sickness one way or another. Can't wait to see the truck when done!!!!!!!

Nice.

I'm just getting started on my 83' D-150 I-6 4 spd. Photos soon.
My rig has a fair amount of rust and "bondo". Not sure how much I'll invest on body work / replace efforts. The engine is strong. The previous owner was a nice guy but the truck needed some TLC just to be reliable. I've already replaced the fuel pump relocated the coil and put in new breathers filters and elements.

A few questions.
How do I find out if the rear-end is "Limited Slip" or "Posi".
Is that info on the ID plate in the door jam on the drivers side?

I've got parts lined up to put on. Some parts are from "clifford" and I've heard good and bad about them. (mostly customer service issues) but so far I've not had any problems. The intake manifold looks fine, well made. Some parts are on Back-Order. I'll be putting on a Eldebrock 1405 4-bbl carburetor.

The exhaust will be the split headers to the "X" pipe and two "flowmaster"s.

Photos soon!

Thanks!

There may or may not be a tag on rear end identifying that it is a Suregrip.

Jack up one rear wheel off ground, taking precautions to chalk front wheels first, and with transmission in neutral, try to rotate elevated wheel. If it turns you don’t have a Suregrip.

Or, if both rear wheels are off the ground, one wheel turns clock ways, the other counter clock ways it's an open differential (peg-leg if you will), or if turning one wheel causes other to rotate same direction you have Suregrip.

Had not posted in a while

Ed's Shop in Morresville, doing the motor work,,on the case, bores are done, on the head os valve seats are done, porting is complete. Ed needs to do case and head milling, Calculations are complete...I know what I want for compression...I had the case and head back over Chistmas, did oil line fixes.,minor clean up on the crank...Ed' asked to put the slant stuff on hold till Jan to allow him to get other projects done, employees vacation time..
Kennys Body Shop in Moresville, had had the rolling chasy since Thanksgiving, body straightening started, has it inside his shop and staged for work, I'll check it again next week.

Me, doing other incremental projects, cam is ground by Oregon Cam and shipped back, misc engine brackets/bolts cleaned/painted/powder coated.
Gauges selected, need to order,,Door / window seals received,, need to find a chrome shop for the door handles...
Today worked on the dash,
http://www.flickr.com/photos/13718356@N ... 768802221/

Power switches selected, bought and mounted, from left to right:
power door locks, and drivers side window and passenger side window,
these are momentary on-off-on switches, the two lower switches are on-off will be for electric engine fan and rear cargo-back up lights.
these are LED lit switches , should look nice. Going to custom silk screen the message center warning lights, brake, ac, fan, reverse,, need to follow up with printing shops...
Found an overhead console, has a drop down door for sun glasses, garage door opener, space for more switches,, picked out rear view mirror with compass and temp gauge,,going to work on the wiring diagram tomorrow..and probably Monday,, looking forward to actually putting nuts on bolts.....

day by day, sometimes,, progress is made

regards
DT

Got down to Mooresville today and checked on the body work...

progress is incremental,,I'm OK with that, what ever you call it,, paint removal, buffing has started..

http://www.flickr.com/photos/13718356@N ... 904332275/

me,, working on the other bits and pieces to make it all come together,,

finished the heater/ac box today,, that is what is in the other photos,,, beware,,,the plastic connectors that Chrysler used on the vacuum lines in the early 80's are really bogus,, the connectors look fine, then tweak them just a bit and they shatter,, I had grabbed a set of heater/ac air box connectors off a 89 D-150,, as they looked simular,, glad I did, they hook up the same, may be a different polymer,,did not self destruct,, hooked up a line to a vacuum pump and got the air box doors to move as expected.

Re-made the foam seals...
this part of the project is done.
That's progress!
regards

DT

good stuff DT.

i used tygon tubing (weedeater/chainsaw) fuel hose cut in 2 inch lengths to make connectors on mine and my sons truck. both connectors on the climate control had disintegrated. found the diagram for all the vac hoses (have copy if you need) at www.ramchargercentral.com. lots of relevant info there for the 80s trucks.

have a great day, andy.
