Okay, good.

"That said, the plugs will be dirtier with a weak ignition system than with a strong one. What kind of ignition system are you running?"

Just OEM Chrysler electronic ignition.

"If there's a vacuum leak, it'll spoil your ability to dial in the carburetor or any other tuning parameters, so fix that first."
That's kind of what I figured. Thanks Dan!

Update: My Volare has been running rough the last couple of days. It has been VERY cold here, very cold for south Texas anyway, and my Volare's slant tends to be cold natured. I'm going to pull the spark plugs in a while and see what they look like. I suspect they are fouled. If so, I'll clean them up, and I was thinking of gapping them a little wider. Right now, they are at 35, I was going to regap them to 40 and try that.
If any of ya'll have any other suggestions, please let me know.
Thanks!

Okay, the number 6 plug (nearest the firewall) was the dirtiest. I cleaned it, and the rest of them, regapped them to 40, and reinstalled them. The slant is running a little better, but there appears to be some leakage at the carb base, which as Dan pointed out, needs to be fixed first.

I've never really been happy with the Mr. Gasket 2 to 4 carb adapter that I'm using, but I haven't seen any other adapters yet that I think would work for me. I would like to make, or have made, a carb adapter that would be more precise, without all of the extra holes.
