Hi,

I was able to buy a brake booster from a VH Charger, in my wisdom I hoped it will be able to fit my VC once I can cobble together some kind of bracket to connect it to the brake pedal.

My question is will this brake booster bolt directly on to my current stock master cylinder? It is the rectangular styled one, not the one with the "bowl".

AND

It was advertised as being in working condition but I am a little skeptical and it at least needs to be painted and de-rusted, is it much effort to pull one apart clean it all up and put it back together? And do I need anything special to do this?

I got the booster in anticipation for buying disc brakes down the track.

In the US, it's essentially impossible for "Joe Anybody" to buy repair parts to rebuild brake boosters. There are rebuilders such as Booster Dewey who do excellent (complete, careful, safe) rebuild jobs on boosters; I imagine there are such services available in Australia, too. Just taking it apart and putting it back together without renewing the soft parts wouldn't be wise.

Agreed. And now I am going to answer my PMs then go out and swap the booster Dewey built for me into the Dart!

i have a 69 barracuda...manual brakes...i converted it to power brakes...originally i bought a power booster/master cylinder from ssbs....didn't work, pedal hard as a rock...after spending hours with tech support and a second unit sent producing the same problems... i found out ssbs sells a single diaphram booster, where the car calls for a dual diaphram booster...

ssbs still thinks they sell something that works... it doesn't...

master power is who i got the correct booster...and it works....it was a master cylinder, proportioning valve, power booster combination kit...

i hope this info saves someone the trouble i went through...
