hi. so i just got a 64 dart gt, its my second slant six, my first one being a 73 dodge van that i super sixed and put dutra dual headers on n everything.

anyway this dart has a clifford 4bbl intake and 4bbl holley carb. the carb is shot tho and id think id like to take it back to a 2bbl to save on gas. i understand the plate on the clifford is interchangeable and i can put a 2bbl plate on, so what would my best carb option be? i had put a holley 2280 on my van and loved that one. anyway i appreciate any words of advice!

What other modifications have been done to the engine? Headers, lumpy cam, ported head, raised compression?

You best bet may to be to rebuild the Holley and keep you foot out of the secondaries.

im not sure to be honest. i traded a vespa for it! im super excited about it. it has a clifford intake and clifford headers, theyre vintage tho, friend got them from an old hot rodder. i know its been upgraded to the electronic ignition. and besides that im not sure...yet. also its had the heads redone. not really sure what that entails tho.

so i took the 4bbl holley 390 to be rebuilt today. figured i can always figure out the 2bbl later. i also got a new fuel pump and will go through all that later.

so im mainly just going to be driving around town, not really racing the young kids in their hondas and miatas anymore. so with that being said it seems to make sense to me to down tune to a 2bbl carb. but you guys are a smarter than me, so do you think thats a wise thing to do? will it make a difference in my mpgs? and also if i do need an adaptor are those mr gasket ones total poop?

I traded a 1974 Vespa 150 super with a p200 motor. It had a cut mazachelli crank, t5 carb, sito plus pipe, and was ported. Fast little bugger.
