I have decided to affectionately name this project: Project Dart II, right now it looks like I'm getting a 1970 Dodge Dart 2 door hardtop, 225 slant six column automatic, 9 inch drums right now. It has the HEI upgrade, master blaster 2 coil, Headlight relay upgrade, 1945 carb right now and factory exhaust. First thing I'm doing is swapping my NOS 1920 carb and 2.25" exhaust onto this car. It needs body work but I don't have the funds to repaint it yet, so I'm just going to get it as straight as possible, but its going to get a coat of 2 stage PPG sublime green, and the body line that runs along the top of the fender, door and quarter is going to get gloss black front to back (after the first dart I realized that I really needed something to break up the color), maybe a black hood, I think it would look pretty rad.

I would do a satin black hood/cowl...perfer it to gloss as sun doesn't blind you reflecting off shine...just a thought.....looks nice

looks like a solid start, i like the flat black on the hood, but maybe just a center stripe or somthing, the whole hood flat black just looks unfinished to me.

How about a shot of under the hood to see where those scoops open up at to let the air in.

I'll get some pictures up of under the hood, Neil the previous owner and a member here did a great job doing the HEI ignition and headlight relays and keeping it looking really clean. I got my carpet put down in the front, the back floor pans need some welding before I put the rear section of carpet down. It feels a lot more "tippy" than my '74 on the open highway handling wise. I started on the body work on the driver quarter, I got a lot of the heavy denting out, but its going to have to go on a frame rack to pull the quarter out a tad to get the gap I want between the trunk lid and the panel, also it has some wrinkling on the top of the quarter that will come out when I pull on it on the frame rack. I think that a satin black hood will look pretty cool on this. More to come.

Seth

Looking good! I like those instrument clusters much better than the later A body style.

congrats,, looks like you came out right side up, :D
lot of potential with the 70 dart
the tippy feel could just be the shock -tire combo

Yeah, I like the cluster better too, it took some getting used to seeing the needle "glide" left to right, rather than turn on a peg that I can see. I think the tippy feeling is related to the tires for sure, I was talking to aggressive ted about that via PMs and right now I'm rolling on studded 185's  my other car had 195's, I think I'm going 245's in the rear and 205's in the front.

Reed- yeah, I only carry 4 cd's in my car - Led Zeppelin - Mother-ship (2 cd greatest hits), The Doors greatest hits, AC/DC back in black and razors edge.

Sweet music selection. The Doors are my favorite band ever and AC/DC is a close second.

So you already have the stereo and the rubber floor mat and some interior pieces installed? When do you study? and sleep?

Wait, I'm in college?  no, I just spend whatever free time I have in the car, generally right before or right after class, fortunately I'm only taking 13 credit hours this term. The stereo was a 10 minute job, the carpet was very easy too, the only interior pieces I have installed already are the kick panels.

If you look at the interior photo of the brake pedal, just above it is the funky rear defroster switch hanging off the dash. (yes, put it there, but always hated it)

Can anyone hook Seth up with the correct one? Thanks.

Sincerely, P.O.
