Stock compression ratio calculated to approx. 7.995 to 1 with 59cc combustion chambers and .022 steel shim thickness

Here are the measurements:

46cc.........goal combustion chambers volume....
0.............piston head volume
.034".......felpro headgasket thickness....
3.50".......gasket bore
3.40".......cylinder bore
.170".......deck clearance
4.125"......stroke
So 59cc minus the 46cc goal leaves 13cc's, which I multiplied by .0066 to get a .085 cut which should bring it to approx 9.009 to 1 comp ratio....probably on the high side of what the actual ratio will be but at least in the right direction. Using stock cam and upgrading to super 6 holley 2 barrel 2280.
Does anyone think a distributor recurve will be required? thanks again!

Discovered that the shim head gasket was deteriorating at the coolant block off point near the front of the engine and was opening up so it was probably a good thing that I decided to remove the head at this time. Delays and freezing temps invade, hopefully for a short time, but the cylinder head is cut and new/upgrade parts ready to be installed. Wont be soon enough! Will have pics of before/during/after to post.

Finished....well I thought I finished the super 6 conversion. The car started and ran well needing a final adjustment on the valve lash.
When the car came up in tempurature I discovered a water leak at what I think is the headgasket at the corner near the alternator. I retorqued the Head to 80Lbs/ft but the leak persists. Also a couple manifold stud leaks, resulting in burning antifreeze...one near cylinder 1 and in the back near cylinder 6. Two things come to mind a faulty headgasket or most likely, foolish mistake, the dowel pins causing the head to not seat fully. I milled the cylinder head .085 and used a felpro gasket. I thought there was enough room for the dowels but maybe not. I will do one more check to make sure the intake stud leak isnt making its way to the corner near the alternator. If that is the culprit, I may luck out with pulling a couple studs and resealing them.

Found the source of the leak. The 1/2" heater hose fitting was leaking coolant and making its way to the cylinder head and block parting line closest to the alternator curtousy of the fan! Also had to pull and reseal the top outermost intake/exhaust studs. Will post pics on this super 6 conversion in the near future. Thanks to all for the help/advice.
