found both of these, from what ive read, it will fit my 67 but not be perfect factory match for the one year only style 67, which im not hugely worried over

seems to be the same basic item, b,e,a is in ohio so closer to me so maybe better shipping, might call both tomorrow for shipping, figured i would see if anyone on here has had any good or bad experiences with either vendor, and maybe help anyone else looking for one.

This what you're looking at is Chinese garbage from Peter Gee (the made-up name he's adopted to make North Americans feel comfortable), of PG Classics. The vendors you list may be less scummy than PG Classics themselves, but the products are still Chinese garbage and the money still flows to Peter Gee.

figures, i had hope i had found a decent product closer to my price range. :(

I haven't bought from them, but I'm very intrigued by the offerings from this outfit. Not much shows up on a search for '67 Dart, but a search for '68 Dart turns up a lot of likely parts, many of which appear to be made in the USA.

They show a slantsix exhaust manifold for $179. Interesting indeed. .

I was curious about what is inferior about the cheap Chinese repop parts? Is the quality bad. I can tell my Crager chrome rims have very, very poor plating. They have started to pit and rust, and I have NEVER driven the car on wet pavement. I am certain there is no triple plating there.

I bought a rear bumper from Year One. Do you suppose this comes from the same place (Peter Gee)? If so, I will have to keep it waxed for sure. The box said Official Mopar Restoration on it,with the Mopar log and Pentastar.

I would like to eventually replace the rear tail light bezels and lenses with the products from Year One. If I read the web site info correctly, they charge $275 for both the bezels and lenses, and PG wants $275 for only the bezels, and another $165 for the lenses.

Maybe its not.showing correctly on my mobile browser, but it seems all they have is a dash pad cap, 67 is one year only with a step down, 68 is a two piece, 69-76 one piece without the step down but would fit. That step makes me wonder how a dash cap would fit as well

I wouldn't bother with any of their hard parts -- that's just reselling of commodity parts you can buy from dozens of different vendors.

Doubt it -- I'm in periodic correspondence with the owner of Year One, and he tells me he avoids Gee and Gee's junk for exactly the reasons I describe in (drumroll?) the linked threads.

So the stuff in my post before last with links to year one should be superior quality to the PG stuff? Is it worth the 100$ price bump (249 vs 349) to get one with a frame instead of just urethane?

I read those Dan. I wasn't challenging your assertion. Your experience with poor customer service is enough of a turn off. I was kind of looking for some insight into the technical shortcomings of the products. Not just that they failed, rusted, warped, or otherwise fell apart. Sorry I was not more specific with my question. I know about the triple plating thing, why it is needed, and why single plating does not last. And, as I pointed out, I am pretty sure my Crager wheels were not triple plated.

But I was wondering if you had any suspicions why the casting failed? Or maybe even direct knowledge of shortcuts they took? I know in the train hobby, metal castings sometimes failed because contaminants got into the alloy mix and caused internal oxidation, which caused things to expand and crack apart. Does it look like that is what happened on your mirror? I should add, even the best domestic manufacturers (Lionel and American Flyer) in what were otherwise good years had problems from time to time. I suspected that maybe the casters did not clean their casting apparatus well enough, but no one I ever talked to could give any definitive answers as to why it happened.

I am glad to hear Year One is handling good stuff. After looking at Peter Gee's pricing it seems Year One is actually cheaper on some things.

Sorry, I didn't understand your question. The parts are junk for similar reasons why any junk parts are junk: Low-quality raw materials processed (cast and plated, in this case) in inadequate facilities without skill, talent, or care.

Yes. No cracks here, but low-quality (contaminated) potmetal sloppily cast and hastily plated means quick corrosion.

Man I'm all over the place on this, but seems that I should go ahead and cough up the extra $ and skip the cap and replace it, leaning towards the urethane one (69-76 style) at year one. Also, while I'm thinking of it, Dan, did you ever get a chance to look at the p/n for the clutch? Have a pm to Charlie about a condensor. Anticipating getting lots done this year, no car payment and should have some insurance money coming from getting ran over on my bicycle.

Sorry that wasn't very specific, the clutch for the Mercedes clutch fan you had mentioned a while back, I had pm'd you a p/n for a clutch for it on rockauto, you had mentioned you had a cast aluminum fan and seemed like it could be had for a reasonable price plus shipping, but didn't have a clutch with it.
