Hey, I have not done this since high school. It is not that hard to convert a solid linkage shifter to a cable shifter is it?

Need more info on exactly what you want to do. What kind of shifter do you want to use, to control what kind of transmission? Please be as specific as you can with models, years, etc.

Its a torqueflite in a 52 Chrysler. I just want to replace the ridiculous shifter which reaches nearly to the roof, with something like a B&M StarShifter.

Still no info on what kind of shifter the original is and where it's located...what year the transmission is...all those pesky little details that would, um, like, y'know, make the question answerable.

As far as I know there are no telepaths on the board.

In 52 that would likely be a "Fluid Drive" 2 speed or some sort of manual 3 speed transmission... not the later "Torqueflite"... unless the later trans was swapped-in.

The original tranny was swapped out. The original engine too.
It now has a 318 out of an 89 Dodge Diplomat.

I wish it was all original, but hey, it is a running, driving, car for only $2750

When you buy the shifter kit it will have all the brackets you will need.

No, it's not that hard. If I can do it, anyone can.
