I converted my 66 Dart to 74 Duster discs. Its been a while since I took the breaks off the Duster and I want to make sure Im putting the metal clips back on top of the caliper correctly. Also with the caliper came 2 bands and two washers. I assume the washers are for the rubber line but what are the bands for? Thanks in advance ( I dont have a complete setup to look at)

You're talking about the slider type calipers, right? The open end of the clip goes toward the caliper. Those copper washers, they're new? Just pennies for new ones. The bands, I don't know. What kind of bands?

black rubber bands 2 for each caliper.

Those rubber bands are some sort of anti-rattle thing. The picture in my factory service manuals shows the rubber bands in the breakdown, but no where does it say or show where or how to install them.
Does anyone out there know?

How big are these rubber bands? Could you be referring to chatter springs that fit around the rotor/drum or are they too small for that?
