Anyone got a recommendation for something reasonably accurate?

Preferably something that does not take batteries and is cheap enough that I can buy one for every car and leave it my always unlocked car.

Yup. This English-made one, which you can buy by calling up Tire Repair Solutions at (604) 444-1064. Nice to be able to buy a really well made gauge not from the People's Republic of Probably Somewhere Between 20 and 45 PSI When It Reads "32".

Can't say. Bought mine a long time ago and haven't had to replace any of 'em. I don't remember them being very costly. Maybe $15 or so?

If you'd like to get a very nice one for your shop there's always Intercomp. A bit expensive for rattling around in the glove box though.

Various internet racing parts outfits and tire shops sell them at discounted prices. Probably can get them locally as well.
