Hey all,

Anybody know where I can get a new Holley 1920 carb for a '69 Dart? If not possible, then at least the choke assembly that is screwed onto the exhaust manifold?

Thanks.

here is a few links to many of the discussions on the Holley 1920.. there is much info on rebuilding them and as many on why its not worth rebuilding them or buying a remanufactured one..

I am sure slantsixdan and a few others (that really know these cars in and out) will chime in before to long but in the meantime you can visit these links and or just search Holley 1920 and you will get a million hits ( half will prob be mine lol)

Carburetor operation and repair manuals and links to training movies and carb repair/modification threads are posted here for free download. Be sure to read this thread, too -- years ago it was possible to buy a good rebuilt carburetor in a box from a parts store; that hasn't been true for a long time. Carburetors are very much a "get-what-you-pay-for" item, more and more every day as the supply of really good ones continues to dry up.

The 1969 carburetors have a one-year-only (in the US, anyhow) throttle plate anti-ice setup described here. If you want to keep it operational you'll need a 1969 carburetor -- I might have a new one, but can't check til the 26th. Bypassing/removing the anti-ice system isn't difficult if you wind up with an other-year carburetor, but it has to be done right or you'll let dirt into the engine.

New choke won't be a problem; you can get a new original-type unit if you keep your eyes open, or a #1231 electric choke kit.

SlantSixDan, let me know if you have a new carb. By the way, do California Darts have this anti-ice setup? Mine has no such thing. Maybe the previous owner got rid of it.

Thanks.
