I have my engine on the stand, and I am mixing/matching various parts from various engine. I want to buy a gasket set, though I probably won't need all of them. Slant Six Dan will know this one in two seconds: what's the best gasket set brand and where to get it?

RockAuto, which has always done ok by me, shows two Fel-Pro sets, 2 Reinz sets, and 1 Sealed Power set. All the info and pics with each set are incredibly unhelpful. Any tips, oh Great Bearded Guru?

i used everything on my new motor from felpro, except for the aussi manifold gasket i had ordered from a member here. and also a remflex "hotbox" manifold to manifold gasket from another member.

ive read that some oil pumps use a different shaped gasket then the felpro (felpro needing to be modified) but i had no problems with that with my melling oil pump.

also i have read that some like a composite style oil pan gasket, which is harder, and wont squish like a cork, and also some said to have never used the 2 rubber end oil pan seals, and only used a large bead of silicone.

I purchased a Fel-Pro 260-1038 for 81-87 slants set from ebay,, vendor was Falconglobal, for 54.98 included shipping.
after delivery I went through the gasket set, noticed that one of the rear seal L gaskets was missing. Through e bay I sent a note to the vendor, they got back to me the next day,,apologizing for any inconvenience and sent to me a complete rear seal gasket set.

I run a combination of FelPro and RemFlex. Remflex on the exhaust pipe, intake and hotbox. The FlePro's just don't last long in those 3 areas when the surfaces are not freshly milled.
