What about the hose from the rear line to the axle?

The hose is brand new as is every component of the front and rear assemblies. I get no fluid before the hose either. When pumping the brakes and holding the pedal down and opening the bleeder at the rear, nothing comes out and the pedal does not go down. That's why I wondered if I pressured the system up it might move the fluid better and flush any obstruction. I figured, I could disconnect the hard line at the rear and pressure the MC. I cannot bust loose the rear line at the proportioning valve and don't want to use more force and break the line or valve. My plan B is to haul it over to a brake shop and let them figure it out but that would do irreparable damage to my pride.

I know what you mean. I'm in a similar struggle with my rear brakes. I get a little fluid but not much.

The next plan is to go for the hose. I'm totally new back to the hose.

Of course the last time I went to bleed the brakes, my wife asked me if I even knew what I was doing.

Man I hate bleeding brakes.

I made my own pressure bleeder that worked great! I finally got fluid to the rear brakes. I bled all the air out of all four wheels and have brakes at all four (at least in the garage with all four wheels on jack stands). The light still will not go off. I had that happen once on my old VW and I found a place to do my alignment and fix that problem. So, since I need to realign the Duster anyway because I replaced the entire front suspension, I will have them look at the proportioning valve problem again. At least I feel safe driving it over there. I was going to post photos of my pressure bleeder here but I guess you have to do that through a link and I do not have a web site to do that on but I can email to anyone interested. Thanks.

Mike
