Not planning on doing it, plenty of other things to do first. but the stock converter compared to a new/later model converter of the same RPM range is their any benefit? Do you find a few more HP? Lose 20pounds or anything? A noticeable gains?*

Cheers

I have no idea, but I have been thinking about it too.

I guess a new(er) converter should be more efficient?

There are 3 basic types of factory "904" converters: (10 3/4" shell size)
1) Early "small shaft" (3/4 w/ 18 splines)
2) Later non-lock-up 7/8 shaft w/ "fine" (28 ) splines". (Stronger)
3) Lock-up (All have "large" shafts and 27 splines)
