Can some one refresh my memory? I had to pull apart the rear drum on one side of the Swinger to replace a broken spring, and I was trying to remember how best to readjust them. It's been over 25 years since I've messed with drums.

I know I can rotate the star wheel through the slot in the backing plate, but I can't remember if that was a 2-person job (one person pushes the brake pedal while another turns the adjuster and spins the wheel/tire, then repeat), or if it's easiest/best to just back the car up and hit the brakes 5-10 times. Any suggestions?

For a rear drum, I adjust with the drum off, and keep "test fitting" with the drum. You get to the point where the drum will no longer go on, then I back-off a few clicks, (5 to 10) install the drum and go for a test drive.

I do it the same, but before I actually test drive i do a few back-ups to let the auto-adjuster fine tune....
