Next weekend, Woodburn. May not make this one. I went and fiddled with the ignition curve, and the car is way off.

I improved things by bumping up to 34° all in. It was a bit higher than that when I started, around 36.5-37°. I need to go back in and see if I can get it back to where it was. Had about 14° of mechanical. Got 10° now. Initial at 22.5° and 32.5° all in, the car runs slow. Need to loosen up the clamp and move the timing up again, see if it will start with 25-26° initial. Probably be fine.

The whole point of the excersize was to wean it off $9/Gal 110 race gas. Installed a 160° T-Stat in it, and temperature behaves pretty well now. Still runs 200° at WOT.

I'm ready to go back on the 110 and just deal with it. Added a second on the 1/4 taking that timing out. Long rod engines will take a lot of timing, but this is rediculous! Premium detonates something terrible with anything over 30° all in at WOT when third gear snicks in.

It's a 15 second car again! :D

Three guesses what the problem was? Running with All in of ~41°

Bueller? Bueller?

It's the simple stuff that'll getcha!

Loose timing tab? Slipped damper ring? Dial back timing light dial loose?

Hope to see/meet you at Woodburn.
